Two weekends of skyrunning: from 22 to 24 July the Youth Skyrunning World Championships and on 31 July the Skyrunning World Series in Arinsal – La Massana, Andorra.
The World Championships will attract athletes from more than 25 different countries.
Vallnord – Pal Arinsal will once again host the Youth Skyrunning World Championships 2022, after having already hosted the championships in 2017. Over three days, races of different categories will be held in the Arinsal area: the Vertical Kilometre, the Youth A (15–17 years old) covering 14km and 810 m+, the Youth B (18–20 years old) and U23 (21–23 years old) spanning 19 km and 1,450 m+. What’s more, there will be an open race with the same route as the Youth A for young people aged from 14 to 18 year olds, making it a spectacular weekend for grassroots sport and which will kick off an incredible month of July in the parish of La Massana.
The Merrell Skyrace Comapedrosa by Grifone: a special event for authentic skyrunning
The race, which is a firm fixture in the international calendar and has been held since 2004, will be attended by 1,000 participants from more than 30 countries, making it one of the world’s leading races.
The event offers three distances that will allow participants to enjoy the technical trails, summits and landscapes of the Valls del Comapedrosa Natural Park and the Vallnord – Pal Arinsal ski resort.
Its main distance, which is part of the World Cup, spanning 23.8 km and almost 2,400m+,makes it a real challenge. This very technical, fast and fun course featuring spectacular scenery is an exceptional race both for the participants and for the fans who gather to support all the skyrunners.
The race heads deep into the Valls del Comapedrosa Natural Park, reaching Andorra’s highest peak, the summit of Comapedrosa.
Ultra Comapedrosa: discover the Andorran Pyrenees
Covering 50 km and 4,500 m+, this event is made up of an initial section shared with the Skyrace Comapedrosa, which goes up to Negre lake. From there, the route climbs to Portella de Sanfons and the top of Port Vell (2,655 m), continuing to Cap de l’Ovella (2,541 m) and descending via the Botella col, through the Cabús pass and the Bordes de Setúria. From there, it returns via Alt de la Capa (2,572 m), Port Negre (2,570 m) and Comallemple, with a final descent to the finish line in Arinsal.
Skyrace Arinsal: a race for skyrunning beginners
Experiencing the philosophy of the sport without pushing yourself too hard is possible thanks to the Skyrace Arinsal. A race covering 18.6 km and more than 1,400m+ which is ideal for those who want to get started in skyrunning.
31 July will be a date to celebrate, have fun and outdo yourself thanks to an original and impressive event.
